BEYOND THE BOX - MURAL ART PROGRAM

OVERVIEW

The Beyond The Box - Mural Art Program is a utility box mural project supported by the City of Glendale and the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission, with funding from the Urban Art Program. There are currently over 150 painted utility box murals in Glendale. The Call for Artists for Glendale utility box murals is released once a year.

2024 BEYOND THE BOX MURALS

The theme of this year's Beyond the Box - Mural Art Program was Art & Science Collide in celebration of Glendale, Library, Arts & Culture's participation in PST Art: Art & Science Collide. The theme created opportunities for civic dialogue around some of the most urgent problems of our time by exploring past and present connections between art and science.

The utility box murals featured below are previously existing murals that have since been repainted. We acknowledge the talent and work these artists contributed in beautifying the City of Glendale's public spaces. The murals are categorized by the year they were painted.
