
JEWEL CITY CONCERT SERIES
OVERVIEW
The Jewel City Concert Series, formerly known as the 222 East Concert Series, is an outdoor concert series located in the Downtown Arts & Entertainment District. Performances may be experienced by children and families. The Jewel City Concert Series began in 2017 to celebrate the renovation and reopening of Glendale's Downtown Central Library, and is sponsored by the Glendale Arts & Culture Commission through funding from the Urban Art Program, with support from Glendale Library, Arts & Culture.

All concerts are Saturday evenings at 5:00 PM. Admission is free.
Join us for eclectic live music outside on the Artsakh Paseo. Visitors are welcome to bring a chair and enjoy the music on the paseo. Seats are not provided. Performances run 60 minutes without intermission.

The Prairie Moons are a Western swing and honky-tonk band bringing vintage country charm. Fronted by Eva Mikhailovna and Kully Stiles, the band plays beloved classics alongside original songs written by the duo, delivered with heart, humor, and irresistible swing. Featuring some of Los Angeles’s finest Western swing musicians, The Prairie Moons have quickly become a favorite among vintage music lovers in Southern California. Eva and Kully have toured internationally, and Eva has performed at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium. Rooted in tradition but alive with momentum, The Prairie Moons keep the dance floor moving and old Western songs shining.

Bolero
Voz Bohemia is a L.A.-based trío romántico with a strong foundation in bolero and ranchera music that also performs other genres that reflect the greater soundscape of Los Angeles, México, Latinoamerica, and beyond. Comprised of musicians Mary Alfaro Velasco, Jesús Gudiño and Ray Gudiño, this multi-generational ensemble performs classic boleros in the vein of the great tríos románticos like Los Tres Ases, Los Tres Reyes, Los Tres Caballeros, Los Dandys, Los Panchos, among others. Their goal is to preserve the trío romántico tradition in its highest form and to shine a light on the diverse bolero canon, performing timeless pieces by bolero artists and composers of different backgrounds and experiences. They aim to share this music with different generations of bolero lovers at all types of events throughout the L.A. community and beyond.

YOUNGTONES

Soul/Retro-Pop
Soul/Retro-pop outfit YOUNGTONES was born in 2017 at a recording session at South by Southwest in Austin, TX. Producer Matthew Young (Vacationer, Body Language, Splice Originals) and Lucas Wade wrote their first track in less than an hour—melding Young’s pop-savvy production with Wade’s roots in singer-songwriter soul. Drawing inspiration from the soul and R&B sounds of the ’60s and ’70s, YOUNGTONES’ music feels both familiar and uniquely fresh. Though the recordings are collaborative, the project is fronted live and on social media by singer/guitarist Luke Wade. The upcoming album Midnight Sun—recorded live to tape at 64 Sound in Los Angeles—Released Oct 24th, 2025. YOUNGTONES aims to create soulful music that moves people by blending groove nostalgia with authenticity.

This incredibly fun band is how it might sound if Stevie Wonder had spent a year living in Jamaica. The “Rootful sound” blends lead singer Sydney Cruz's Soul-infused voice with Anika Erickson’s smooth Pop and R&B harmony vocals. The musical engine powering Rootful’s award-winning songs is anchored by masterful drummer Cristian Cornejo and resident Ska-expert bassist Howie Cruz, and guitarist/visual artist Enoch Davis, who also designs and animates the band’s live visuals. Rootful transforms each show they play into a joyful, uplifting experience that goes beyond a typical “gig” and becomes a celebration. With two soulful-voiced vocalists who sing directly from their hearts to yours, and award-winning, original Reggae, Latin, and Funk songs, there is always a lot of love in the room at a Rootful performance.
